Hey there, I’m Michael Shanks, owner of Kleen Tank of Las Vegas, an authorized Kleen Tank dealer. Our current RV is a 2019 Fleetwood Bounder 35K. I have been camping since I was a young teenager as my father and mother bought their first Winnebago back in 1970. I spent a number of years traveling to the Grand Canyon while on Spring Break to hike down to the bottom and spend a week with my friends in nature and solitude. I always have had a great desire to be in the great outdoors and was able to include my wife in these adventures about 5 years ago. She allowed me to purchase a travel trailer and went with me and our pets across country. She completely loved the experience so we upgraded to our motorhome and plan on spending as much time as we can on the road.. A little Q&A
Q. How did you first learn about Kleen Tank?
A. My journey began a few months ago when we got home from a recent two month long trip. I had been unsatisfied with the way my black tank was draining and it seemed that the installed flush system was not effective. I thought that I could find a better way to get a more complete empty on our tanks. That is when I came across some YouTube videos showing a hydroclean application on the waste tanks. I was intrigued and began a quest to find the equipment necessary to perform this on my rig. As I discussed this with other RV’ers, I discovered there were others who were interested in the service. I contacted a couple of national dealers but the cost was out of my price range until I came across Kleen Tank. I was convinced during my research that the program developed by Kleen Tank looked sound and they were interested in helping me establish a profitable new business under their banner. Most of my impressions focused on the professional style of the website, the name of the company (which was very direct and to the point), and the focus on what is best for the client and their rig (such as the additive to use in the tanks).
Q. What’s your favorite thing you look forward to as a Kleen Tank dealer?
A. Our focus here is in line with the Kleen Tank philosophy which is to help educate people on the proper use of their waste tanks under all conditions. Whether they are part timers, full timers, or weekend warriors, they will need our services at some point in their travels. My greatest joy is to meet new people thru the service I provide. Solving the customers problems and showing them ways to prevent it in the future gives me a feeling of satisfaction I used to have in my professional career. It’s nice to go back to work with a purpose.
